The textile industry is a significant contributor to a range of environmental and health challenges, and it is time to tackle them one at a time. At PolyCore, our focus is on eliminating toxic solvents from the supply chain.
Our water-based textile coatings are designed for the environment. They are free of PFAS and eliminate the use of CMR (carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic) solvents. Standard textile coating facilities use around 1 million kgs of CMR solvents every year. These solvents evaporate into Volatile Organic Compounds: the main ingredient found in air pollution.
Historically, water-based technologies have been tossed aside due to a lack of performance. Our coating is the first water-based technology that can match and even beat performance standards of solvent-based coatings. We have spent years tweaking these formulas to reach maximum abrasion resistance, tear strength, and hydrostatic resistance.
At PolyCore™, our goal is to phase out solvent-based coatings throughout the entire industry and replace them with sustainable alternatives. This one small change will have a substantial positive impact on the environment, our lives, and the lives of future generations.
